• The candidature of all qualified candidates is provisional.
• Qualified candidates must satisfy every eligibility condition stated in the official notification.
• Original certificates relating to age, educational qualification, category and disability will be verified.
• Candidates must update or confirm the required details through the UPSC online portal.
• Proof of passing the prescribed educational qualification must be uploaded where required.
• Candidates who fail to complete the mandatory online process may not receive an e-Summon Letter.
• The date and time of the Personality Test will be communicated separately.
• Requests for changing the Personality Test date are ordinarily not accepted.
• Written-result qualification does not guarantee final recommendation.

• Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics or Econometrics.
• The degree must be awarded by a recognized university, incorporated institution or another institution accepted under the examination rules.
• Candidates who had appeared or intended to appear in the qualifying examination could be admitted provisionally, subject to producing proof within the prescribed time.

• Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with Statistics, Mathematical Statistics or Applied Statistics as one of the subjects.
• Alternatively, candidates may possess a master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics or Applied Statistics.
• The Statistics subject must have been studied as a full subject rather than only as a limited component of another course, wherever required by UPSC rules.
• Appearing candidates were subject to later submission of proof of passing the qualifying examination.

• Negative marking applies to the objective-type Statistics-I and Statistics-II papers of the Indian Statistical Service examination.
• One-third of the marks assigned to a question may be deducted for an incorrect answer.
• If more than one answer is marked, the response may be treated as incorrect.
• No penalty is applied when a question is left unanswered.
• The remaining IES and ISS papers are conventional or descriptive papers.

13. Check the UPSC website regularly for the Personality Test schedule.
14. Download the e-Summon Letter when it becomes available.

5. Select either the Indian Economic Service or Indian Statistical Service result PDF.
6. The official result PDF will open on the screen.
7. Download the complete PDF to your device.
8. Open the file using a PDF reader.
9. Press Ctrl + F on a computer or use the Find option on a mobile device.
10. Enter your complete examination roll number.
11. If the roll number appears, you have qualified provisionally for the Personality Test.
12. Save and print the result for future reference.

• The Personality Test carries a maximum of 200 marks.
• UPSC will announce the interview dates separately.
• The date, time and venue will be provided through the e-Summon Letter.
• Candidates must produce original documents at the time prescribed by UPSC.
• The Interview Board assesses intellectual qualities, social traits, judgement and suitability for public service.
• Knowledge of current economic, statistical and national issues may be relevant.
• Final merit is determined using written-examination and Personality Test marks.

• The current result does not provide candidate-wise written marks.
• The official written-examination cutoff has not been released with this result.
• UPSC generally publishes cutoff marks after completion of the entire examination process.
• Marks of recommended candidates are normally released after the final result.
• Marks of non-recommended candidates may be made available according to UPSC rules and the applicable disclosure scheme.
• Candidates should not treat unofficial expected cutoffs as official UPSC cutoffs.
