Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on behalf of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), is releasing the KVS NVS Teaching & Non-Teaching Tier-II Result 2026 under Recruitment Notification 01/2025. The Tier-II examination was conducted from 27 March to 31 March 2026. Result declaration started on 17 August 2026 and is being completed post-wise in multiple phases.
Current Status: KVS NVS Tier-II Result 2026 Phase 1 to Phase 7 Updated
Important Result Update: This is not one single result declared for every post on 17 August 2026. CBSE started the phase-wise declaration on 17 August and subsequently issued additional result phases on 18, 20, 21, 23, 25 and 26 August 2026. Results for remaining posts may continue to be declared separately.
How Result Is Checked: Unlike a public roll-number PDF result, KVS/NVS Tier-II candidates are instructed to log in to their official recruitment application portal to view their individual result / shortlisting status applicable to the post.

CBSE conducted the joint direct recruitment examination on behalf of KVS and NVS for various Teaching and Non-Teaching posts. Candidates first appeared in Tier-I, which was used as the preliminary / screening stage for shortlisting candidates to Tier-II. Tier-II is the Subject Knowledge Examination. Depending on the post, candidates shortlisted after Tier-II may proceed to an Interview, Skill Test or final merit processing.

- Examination Fee: ₹1,500/-

SSA / Stenographer / JSA / Lab Attendant / MTS:
- Examination Fee: ₹1,200/-
- Processing Fee: ₹500/-
- Total: ₹1,700/- + GST
SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: Examination fee exempt, but the ₹500 processing fee + applicable GST was payable.

Fee Clarification: The ₹2,800, ₹2,000 and ₹1,700 amounts are the combination of the notified Examination Fee + ₹500 Processing Fee. Applicable GST was charged additionally.

- PwBD and eligible employees / Ex-Servicemen receive relaxation according to the notification.

- The present Tier-II result shows the candidate’s shortlisting status for Interview.
- The selection process is still continuing.
- Marksheets will be made available within 15 days from publication of the final result after completion of the Interview process.
For Posts Without an Interview:
- Tier-II marks are made available in the respective candidate login along with declaration of result.
For Interview / Skill Test Posts:
- Schedule and Call Letters will be made available in the respective candidate login after finalisation of the schedule.

Final Merit for Interview Posts: Tier-II carries 85% weightage and Interview carries 15% weightage. The Interview is conducted for 100 marks.

| Tier-II to Interview Shortlisting Ratio |

Candidates are shortlisted from Tier-II for Interview in the ratio of approximately:
1 : 3
relative to the notified category-wise vacancies. Candidates obtaining marks equal to the last candidate within the applicable range are also shortlisted according to the notification.

For Skill Test posts, final merit is prepared using Tier-II marks subject to the candidate qualifying the applicable Skill Test.

- Tier-II Exam Duration: 2½ Hours
- Tier-II is a Subject Knowledge Examination.
- It is a combination of Pen-Paper and OMR-Based examination.
- Objective Questions: 1 mark each
- Negative Marking: 0.25 mark for each wrong objective answer
- No marks are awarded for unanswered questions.
- There is no provision for general re-evaluation of the objective / written / descriptive Tier-II examination.

- Shorthand Dictation: 10 Minutes @ 80 WPM
- English Transcription: 50 Minutes

- Typing Test Hindi: 35 WPM
- Computer Proficiency Test: 100 Marks
- Minimum CPT Requirement: 40%

| Organisation / Region Preference After Result |
|
Candidates for whom preference between KVS and NVS or organisation / region is applicable may be required to submit their choice through the official application login.
|
Important rules include:
- Preference must be submitted within the notified period.
- Post / organisation allocation is made according to merit and choice.
- A candidate is allotted only one post according to the final applicable merit and preference.
- Request for change after submission is generally not accepted.
- A candidate who fails to submit a required choice within the stipulated period may not be considered for allocation.
- The notification states that no waiting list shall be maintained.

| Educational Qualification |
There is no single qualification applicable to all 15,762 vacancies. Eligibility is post-specific.
- Some posts require Class 10.
- Some require Class 12 / Senior Secondary.
- Some require a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Teaching posts may require professional teacher-training qualifications such as B.Ed., D.El.Ed. or equivalent, depending on the post.
- PGT posts generally require relevant Post-Graduation and prescribed professional qualification.
- PRT and many TGT posts require a valid CTET certificate subject to the exceptions specified in the official notification.
- Administrative and technical posts have separate educational / experience conditions.
Candidates must check the detailed qualification prescribed for their exact post in Recruitment Notification 01/2025 and subsequent corrigenda.

Eligibility Correction: It is inaccurate to describe every KVS/NVS post simply as “10th / 12th / Graduation / Post Graduation in any discipline.” Teaching, administrative, technical, stenography and laboratory posts have different mandatory qualifications and experience requirements.
