• Advocate candidates must possess the applicable Advocate’s licence and enrolment certificate of the concerned Bar Council.
• Judicial Officers can also be eligible under the experience conditions prescribed in the Delhi HJS Examination 2026 advertisement.
• A Judicial Officer may satisfy eligibility by having completed seven years at the Bar before joining subordinate judicial service, or by having the prescribed combined experience as a Judicial Officer and Advocate.
• A person who has been or is in judicial service must satisfy the prescribed combined experience of at least seven years as an Advocate and/or Judicial Officer as on the last date of application.
• Candidates must satisfy all documentary and experience conditions prescribed by the High Court of Delhi.

The official preliminary result confirms that the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Mains Examination (Written) 2026 will be held on:

Candidates shortlisted in the preliminary result should immediately begin preparation for all four descriptive Mains papers and monitor the Delhi High Court website for the detailed examination schedule and Mains admit-card instructions.

• Viva-Voce Maximum Marks: 250 Marks
• General Category Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50%
• SC / ST Minimum Qualifying Marks: 45%
• Eligible PwD Minimum Qualifying Marks: 45%
• Candidates shortlisted for Viva-Voce shall generally not exceed three times the number of advertised vacancies in each category, subject to tie provisions.

The Preliminary Examination is only a screening examination and its marks are not added to the final merit score.

The Delhi Higher Judicial Service final merit list will be prepared on the basis of:

• Mains Examination Written: 750 Marks
• Viva-Voce: 250 Marks
• Total Final Merit Marks: 1,000 Marks

In case of a tie in the final result, the candidate senior in terms of enrolment with the concerned Bar Council is placed higher. If the enrolment dates are also the same, the elder candidate is placed higher.
