• Candidates must possess an eligible NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate and satisfy Flying Branch eligibility.

• Candidates must possess an eligible BE / B.Tech qualification and a valid qualifying GATE score in an accepted discipline.
• GATE Score Entry candidates are exempted from the AFCAT written examination and are shortlisted directly for AFSB according to official rules.

Candidates can estimate their raw AFCAT score using the official marking scheme:

• Count the number of correct answers.
• Multiply correct answers by 3.
• Count the number of incorrect answers.
• Deduct 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
• No mark is added or deducted for unattempted questions.

Estimated Raw Score = (Correct Answers × 3) − (Incorrect Answers × 1)

Where multiple examination shifts are involved, the Indian Air Force may apply the official normalisation procedure before declaration of results.
